the topic. In this session Alzaabi is the Head of police, Hamden Kareem – the
Chief of Road Accidents Department, Mubarak Salem – Manager of Emirates
Driving Institute and Hamad Khalid - the secretary of the head of police.
Hamdan handed out sheets; he showed some statistics about
car accidents and it was shown as a histogram.
The histogram divided into 3 groups according to different periods of
the year. The statistics showed the reasons of the car accidents; the reasons were
divided into the maintenance of roads and cars, reckless driving and excessive speed.
Khalid Alzaabi distributed an example of poor road
maintenance situations by mentioning it to the meeting members. Also he talked
about the number of deaths caused by car accidents, based on statistics.
Hamad shared with us his previous experiences with fines.
He paid 600 Dhs for driving on the road shoulder.
Mr. Hedley asked several questions about different situations. He
was wondering about the way of people’s reckless driving.
Conclusion:
First of all this meeting added to me several communication
skills; for example we may differ in opinion but it won’t cause any side
effect. Moreover this session gave us the ability to work with some issues by
evidence; our conversations were based on statistics and histograms which make
it easy to get the idea. Finally it was a great experience to me and it gave me
a lot of communication skills.
